Large Cap

One of a trio of terms in common use, the others being small cap and mid cap referring to market capitalisation of firms. While the thresholds are variable, the phrase large caps refers to the very largest companies with the highest market capitalisations, so companies in the FTSE 100 would certainly be large caps. In some markets, large caps might be companies valued at more than $1bn.
